Vengeance

The cause is pride, and the sins are what the proud do, believing as they do, that they aren’t accountable to anyone for their actions or the lack thereof:

9 Behold, the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger, to lay the land desolate: and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it.
10 For the stars of heaven and the constellations thereof shall not give their light: the sun shall be darkened in his going forth, and the moon shall not cause her light to shine.
11 And I will punish the world for their evil, and the wicked for their iniquity; and I will cause the arrogancy of the proud to cease, and will lay low the haughtiness of the terrible.
12 I will make a [righteous] man more precious than fine gold; even a man than the golden wedge of Ophir. (Isaiah 13:9–12)

2 They shall see the glory of the Lord, and the excellency of our God.
4 Behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you. (Isaiah 35)

There will be zero tolerance for the unrepentant after The Sign of Jesus’ Coming appears:

9 For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the Lord, they shall inherit the earth. (Psalms 37:9; Matthew 5:5)

5 I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. (Jude 1:5)

23 And it shall come to pass that every soul which will not hear that prophet shall be destroyed from among the people. (Acts 3)

After The Sign, anything that is against God will be considered treasonous and no longer tolerated:

14 And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints, To execute judgment upon all…murmurers, complainers, walking after their own lusts; and their mouth speaketh great swelling words, having men’s persons in admiration because of advantage. (Jude 1:14-16)

Destroyed By Fire

Will the unrepentant be destroyed by fire through the righteous? Yes.

1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
2 But unto you that fear my name shall the Sun of righteousness arise with healing in his wings; and ye shall go forth, and grow up as calves of the stall.
3 And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts. (Malachi 4:1–3)

The Mighty and Strong will know who hates them, and they will be allowed to destroy them and their seed by fire:

8 Thine hand shall find out all thine enemies: thy right hand shall find out those that hate thee.
9 Thou shalt make them as a fiery oven in the time of thine anger: the Lord shall swallow them up in his wrath, and the fire shall devour them.
10 Their fruit shalt thou destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men. (Psalms 21:8–10)

The Mighty and Strong will hit head-on those nations that grew their wealth on the backs of slaves and their wealth will be given to the righteous who no doubt will be among the poor, the meek, and the humble.

19 And Babylon, the glory of kingdoms, the beauty of the Chaldees’ excellency, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. (Isaiah 13:19)

The unrepentant among the dark arts will be destroyed by fire and will burn for eternity in hell. According to those who have been to hell and back, there is a special place for them in there.

13 Thou art wearied in the multitude of thy counsels. Let now the astrologers, the stargazers, the monthly prognosticators, stand up, and save thee from these things that shall come upon thee.
14 Behold, they shall be as stubble; the fire shall burn them; they shall not deliver themselves from the power of the flame: there shall not be a coal to warm at, nor fire to sit before it. (Isaiah 47:13–14)

There will be zero tolerance on that day. After The Sign and thereafter it will be impossible for the unrepentant to get away with their willful disobedience any longer. They will be confronted by The Mighty and Strong, and if they refuse to change they will be destroyed:

28 Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
29 But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
30 Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed. (Luke 17:28–30)

Temple A Shadow

There are several things to keep in mind about the cleansing of the temple:

a. It was the only time Jesus executed vengeance upon the wicked.

b. He did it to fulfill prophecy.

c. It was a “shadow” or example of a cleansing that would yet come at the end of time.

12 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. (Matthew 21:12–13)

13 And the Jews’ passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,
14 And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:
15 And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables;
16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.
17 And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
(John 2:13–17)
